Melissa Wu

Melissa Wu is a 14 year old 9th grader at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.

She has been playing piano for 10 years, and started studying with Dr. Anna Ouspenskaya since the summer of 2018. Melissa has been awarded many prizes in competitions such as the Steinway Washington Piano Competition, NVMTA Concerto Competition, Knabe Young Artist Piano Competition, NVMTA Achievement Awards, WMTA Bach Tselentis Competition, WMTA Specialty Music of the Americas Competition, and James Bland Competition at the club, regional, district, and state levels. She has been awarded Honor’s for events such as NVMTA Judged Recitals, WMTA Judged Recitals, and NVMTA Sonata Festivals. Melissa is in her school Model United Nations club, and she has won Best Delegate and Outstanding Delegation awards in past conferences. She is also part of student government, and enjoys playing cello
